Business Rules in Hyperion Planning

Business Rules

Business rules are nothing but calculation scripts but are created graphically and can be accessed from the planning web to execute. A user must have been provisioned with a Business rule Administration role in shared services to create a Business role.

• Login to EAS Console as a Business role Administration
• Expand the Business rules and then expand Repository view and then Right Click on Rules and Click on New Rule
• Click on the Dropdown list under associate outline on your RHS and the double Click on select Outline.

There expand the planning available users, there expand the Host Name and there expand the required planning Application and then select planning Database.

• Click on OK
• Click on Br language on your LHS, which will display different types of actions
• Select Required Action (ex:- Copy Data) then Drag it and Dropdown in RHS window
• Click on the select source, select the appropriate dimension and click on an icon to select members
• Click on Destination and make a member selection similarly
• Click on the location tab, click on Add and then click on Outline from Dropdown
• Click on OK
• Click on the access privilege tab
• Click on Add then it will show all user’s and groups on your LHS
• Select the user and groups and click on symbol à
• Click on OK
• Click on save
• Provide an appropriate name for Business Rule
• Click on OK
• Click on Validate
• Validate one more time
• Click on OK
• Click on Close
